Gritty, realistic. Weird. Occasionally amusing.

F. P. (Frank) Dorchak has been writing since he was six years old, is a huge Twilight Zone fan, and has always written about the supernatural, paranormal, and the metaphysical, otherwise collectively defined as Speculative or New Weird fiction. His short stories have been published in the U.S., Canada, and the Czech Republic. F. P. Dorchak’s four novels are Sleepwalkers, The Uninvited, ERO, and Psychic. He’s also published to Kindle short stories “Clowns” and “Broken Windows.” Do The Dead Dream? is the 2017 Best Book Awards winner in the Fiction: Short Stories category, and is a collection of the best of his work over (at the time) the past 40 years, which he calls “gritty Twilight Zone-like fiction.”

Frank grew up between Whitefield, New Hampshire and Key West, Florida, finally settling in upstate New York’s Adirondack mountains. After graduating Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona, he was commissioned in the U. S. Air Force for nearly seven years and performed duties in missile warning and satellite operations. He is now a retired defense contractor. In his twenties, Frank studied acting and modeling at the John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center and “Writing to Sell Fiction” under James Kisner and Writer’s Digest. He is, very occasionally, an amateur photographer and is also (as of June 4, 2020) a recent student of the violin. Frank has presented and volunteered at a local writers’ conference for many years, presented at writers’ groups, and has been interviewed on local and Internet radio. He’s also spoken at Discovery Canyon Campus High School, in Colorado Springs, for their 2019 “Writers’ Week.” Amazingly, Frank can also occasionally be reached in séances…but don’t believe everything he tells you….
